Keeping You Moving. Beyond Expectations.
We clear snow from utility panels, meters, shutoffs, and vaults so crews can reach critical systems in any Western Washington storm.
Utility Access Clearing in DuPont means opening a path to the things that must stay reachable in winter: meters, hydrants, transformer pads, storm drains and shutoff valves. Washington Snow Removal handles this hand work and light machine work. We are licensed, bonded and insured.
DuPont does not get much snow. It averages 4.6 inches a season, and only 1.4 days a year bring 1 inch or more. But 62% of winters have at least one 1-inch day, and the area sees 40 freezing nights from Oct to Apr. Call 206-809-9669 to set up a dispatch.

Most DuPont jobs are short. Snow is on the ground about 3 days a year, so the work is usually a single event, not a long season. We clear a working area around each access point so a utility crew or property manager can reach it.
Ice matters as much as snow here. With 40 freezing nights a season, melt refreezes and can seal a drain or lid. Freezing rain was reported near DuPont on Jan 19, 2012, at 3 NW of Lake City and 5 N of Fort Lewis. Glaze like that is hard to chip by hand, so we treat it with ice melt.
Where access points sit beside a public sidewalk, note DMC 14.02.030. It says the owner or occupant of abutting property must keep the sidewalk in front of it free from snow, ice or obstruction. No deadline is stated.
Pricing: crew members are $110 per person-hour. A compact track loader with operator (Kubota SCL1000) is $175 per hour. Bagged ice melt is $45 per 50 lb bag. The DuPont trip charge is $525 per dispatch, with a 2-hour minimum. Our Bothell yard is 90 minutes away.
