Keeping You Moving. Beyond Expectations.
Deicing of fire lanes to keep emergency access surfaces from glazing over after they have been plowed.
Fire lanes have to stay clear and safe to walk and drive on. In Roy, Pierce County, that often means treating a thin layer of ice rather than clearing deep snow. Washington Snow Removal, based in Bothell, WA, deices fire lanes with bulk salt or bagged ice melt.
We are licensed, bonded and insured. Roy sees 42 freezing nights between October and April, so frost and refreeze matter more here than big storms. Call 206-809-9669 to set up a dispatch for your property.

A fire lane is a marked strip that crews and emergency vehicles need to use at any hour. Ice on it is a hazard even when no snow has fallen. Deicing means spreading salt or ice melt along the full length of the lane, including curves, hydrant areas and the approach from the street.
Roy gets an average of 6.2 in of snow per season. Snow is on the ground about 4 days a year, and only 1.8 days see 1 in or more. Light-snow days that need deicing average 3.45 a year. The bigger driver is cold: 42 freezing nights from October to April can leave a glaze on shaded pavement.
Ice storms are rare but real. Two ice storm reports have been logged since 2005. Recent events in the Roy area include an ice storm on Dec 23, 2022, and winter weather on Dec 1, 2022. Heavy snow was logged on Feb 8, 2014, and Dec 21, 2008.
