Snow Relocation in Roy: What the Work Involves
Relocation starts after plowing. Plowed snow builds up along curbs, at entrances and in parking rows. We move it to a spot on your property where it will not block drives, drainage or sight lines. The work is done with a compact track loader and operator, and a plow truck can handle the pushing.
Roy sees about 1.82 plow events in an average season and 0.57 Winter Storm Warnings a year. Big storms are rare. Recent events logged for the area include Heavy Snow on Feb 8, 2019, Heavy Snow on Feb 8, 2014, and Winter Weather on Nov 22, 2010. Because storms are few, most properties do not need a standing relocation plan. A call after a heavy event usually fits better.
Cold matters too. Roy has 42 freezing nights from October to April, so moved snow can refreeze into hard piles and ice patches. Piles should be placed away from walkways and downhill runoff. Light-snow days that need deicing average 3.45 a year, and that is a separate task from relocation.
