What This Service Involves

Heat cables provide passive, ongoing protection against the ice dams that plague Western Washington homes through repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Installed in a pattern along eaves and in valleys, the cables warm channels through the snow so meltwater drains off the roof instead of refreezing at the cold edge. This prevents the backup of water that would otherwise force its way under shingles and into the structure. We design the layout to each roof's problem areas, targeting the eaves, valleys, and gutters where ice consistently builds.
