What This Service Involves

Most lowland ice events sit in the temperature range where rock salt does its best work, making salting the workhorse of local ice control. We calibrate spreaders to lay down an even coat that melts the bond between ice and pavement without wasting material or harming landscaping runoff. Because our maritime climate cycles quickly between freezing and thawing, we time salting to the freeze rather than dumping it too early. Salted lots recover faster after a storm and stay passable through the marginal nights common around Puget Sound.
