What Loader Snow Removal Involves in Roy, WA
We send a Kubota SCL1000 compact track loader with an operator. The tracks grip packed snow and ice, and the bucket lets us scrape, lift and stack snow in places a truck blade cannot reach.
Roy sees snow on only 1.8 days a year at 1 in or more. Since 2005 there have been 11 winter storm and heavy snow reports, and the biggest single day was 8.3 in. Recent events include Heavy Snow on Jan 18, 2012, Heavy Snow on Dec 26, 2021, and an Ice Storm on Dec 23, 2022. Winter Storm Warnings average 0.57 a year.
Roy also has 42 freezing nights from Oct to Apr. Snow that is pushed aside can melt by day and refreeze at night, so where we pile it matters.
- Clearing lots, drives and walkways
- Stacking and relocating snow piles
- Opening access to doors, gates and equipment
