Snow Stake Installation for Roy Properties
Installing snow stakes means walking the property before winter and marking what a plow or shovel could hit or miss. We place stakes along drive edges, at the corners of parking areas, beside curbs, near drains and next to lawn or garden borders that sit close to cleared surfaces.
Roy does not see snow every week. The area gets 1.8 days a year with 1 in or more of snow. But storms do happen. The record shows heavy snow on Dec 26, 2021, a winter storm on Feb 12, 2021, and heavy snow on Feb 22, 2018. Since 2005, there have been 11 winter storm and heavy snow reports, and the biggest single day reached 8.3 in. A snowfall that size can bury low edges in one day.
Roy also logs 42 freezing nights between Oct and Apr. Cold ground and repeated freezes can heave or loosen stakes, so placement matters. Setting them before the ground hardens makes the work easier.
