What This Service Involves

Beet juice deicer is an organic-based additive we mix into salt brine to extend its working range and help it cling to Western Washington pavement through freezing drizzle. The sugar-derived liquid lowers the freezing point of the solution, letting it stay active in the teens where plain brine would falter. It also reduces the total chloride needed, which matters on properties draining toward the region's protected waterways. Crews spray the amber blend as pretreatment on lots, ramps, and walkways ahead of a forecast cold snap.
