What This Service Involves

Fire lanes must remain passable under local fire-code requirements, and a Puget Sound snow event can bury access in a few hours. We plow fire lanes wide enough for apparatus and keep hydrant approaches and standpipe connections uncovered. Because our region's wet snow turns to ice fast, we treat cleared lanes to prevent the refreeze that would leave them slick for responders. Fire lanes are placed at the front of our route so they are open before your business day begins.
